About Manny
District 8 is the jewel of the Northside – home to a world-class medical center, a top tier university and research institution, amazing parks & trails, the nearly completed, state of the art, Spurs Performance Center and some of the largest corporations and major employers. It’s no secret that I’m incredibly proud of our district and although, I celebrate every accomplishment, there's much more work to do.
District 8 is my home and it’s been an honor to represent this district for the past 3 terms as your city councilman. My children have grown up so much since I first got elected in 2017 and apart from raising them, I can’t imagine a more rewarding job than serving my community. The last few years have been the most challenging for our city as we navigated the pandemic and all the challenges it presented. It's been a true test of our resiliency as a city, but we're stronger for it and on our way to recovery.
As your city councilman, the district’s needs are my number one priority! I’ve listened to your feedback throughout the years and in response, my team and I have influenced change through policy, brought home many wins every budget session and we even roll up our sleeves to work alongside city crews and volunteers to make improvements in our neighborhoods. It’s this sense of duty that makes all the difference in our community. Like you, I want safe neighborhoods, quality infrastructure and beautiful parks and trails – a great place to live, work, and play!
I ask for your support to continue advocating and fighting for you. I will always prioritize public safety because it’s important for us to feel safe in our neighborhoods. As Chair of the Economic Development Committee, I will continue to build a stronger economy, stronger workforce and support our local businesses. As Chair of the Intergovernmental Affairs Committee, I'll work to bring back our hard-earned tax dollars from the state and federal government to build on our quality of life by expanding green spaces and modernizing our infrastructure. Let’s continue working together to achieve a stronger, more resilient San Antonio!
